Tammy,
I have been following your blog recently, and I have to tell you about a book that I am reading that is changing the way I eat and view weight loss.
I started this chapter of my weight loss journey in May weighing in at 244, my highest weight ever. After using MyFitnessPal and exercising I lost 50 pounds by November. However, by December I was frustrated because I was still doing the same amount of exercising and eating the same foods, but the weight wasn’t coming off anymore. I went to see a Registered Dietitian that is also Nutritional Therapist. She told me I was actually not eating enough and exercising too much. I can say for a fact that I have never heard that comment directed at me before. She talked with me for a long time about my past with weight loss and diets that I have been on before. She recommended that I read Intuitive Eating by Tribole and Resch. You can read more about their approach at http://www.intuitiveeating.org. I can’t recommend the book highly enough for anyone that has ever had psychological issues with food, eating, and/or exercise. It will literally change the way you feel about your body and about food.
My weight loss journey is not over yet. My goal weight is 150, so I have another 45 pounds to go. However, now I am not in a big hurry. I am enjoying eating, exercising, and getting in touch with how my body feels. I know that sounds corny but it is true.
Even if you take the time to read the book and don’t agree with it, I think it would be a good book to review on your blog.
Congratulations on your weight loss and on the success of your blog. I look forward to following your journey.
