Today marks my first weigh in for the year. I decided to post my weight every week as a way to hold myself accountable and to share my process of losing weight.
My goal is to inspire, motive, and educate you as I move forward on losing the last 24 pounds. I also want you to see that I am real person who also struggles with weight. Just because I write this blog does not mean I have it all figured out or that it is easy for me. Sure I have come a long way but, as I continue to learn, creating a healthy lifestyle is a lifelong process.
I know some of you do not like scales or using your weight as a method of measuring results. That is fine do what works for you. Personally, I found a weekly weigh in to be the best way for me to measure progress and to hold myself accountable. It works for me.
Some quick weigh in tips. For the most accurate results only way yourself once a week; at the same time (preferably in the morning as soon as you wake up); and with minimal clothes on. Do not weigh yourself more than once a week because you will drive yourself crazy.
Ok let’s get started. My goal weight is 125 pounds. I started my weight loss journey in October 2010 at 177. Right now I weigh 149.5. As I said in my New Years reflection post I did not lose any weight this past year and actually put on some pounds. I do not want this to become a trend so I am going to focus on getting myself back on track.
Sorry the picture is not that great. I took it with my phone
I will use my camera next week.
I decided, to get back on track, I need to return to the basics.
The basics for me include:
- Food journaling using My Fitness Pal.
- Measuring my food.
- Creating and implementing an exercise schedule.
- Stepping on the scale once a week.
- Follow my real food and clean eating guidelines.
In future posts I will get more in-depth about my plans, triumphs, and struggles but for now I just wanted to get the weigh in started.
If you are interested in joining me in a weekly weigh in please do. Type your starting weight (SW), goal weight (GW), current weight (CW), and pounds loss (PL) in the comments below.
I hope you decide to join because I think it would be great for all of us to support one another and share our experiences. Have a productive week!

I’m ready to be accountable as well!
Hi. I had the worlds most beautiful little girl 2 and a half years ago, however, magical that experience was it ruined my body!!! Pre-preggers weight was 70kgs (approx 140 pounds) which was not ideal to begin with. Anyhoo, post-pregnany I weighed 81kgs (162) that was in July 2010. Now at my heaviest I am 85kgs (170) I have decided to make the change! My ideal weight would be 60-65kgs (120-130) BUT I am focusing on losing 10% at a time. So my 1st GW is 76.5 (168). That is my aim for now. I don’t like HUGE goals to get too, its just too daunting for me and I give up. I will also post my weight every Tuesday and will work out an exercise schedule….. Heads up ladies! Here’s to 2013. I am also on MyFitnessPal….

In 2004 at age 42, I ran a marathon and weighed 125lbs. I was too thin (people told me so at 5’7”), then an injury resurfaced, asthma got worse, kids, went back to school to become a nurse and life took over. This is EXACTLY the motivation and support I need. Thank You!

Following Weight Watcher’s 360 degree plan. Today is Day 1. Been at Day 1 numerous times throughout my life. I’m 46 year’s old. Going to get on track and get down 50 pounds by the end of 2013. It would be awesome to hit under 200 pounds again. Haven’t been under 200 lbs since I was 21 year’s old. Lifetime battle calls for lifestyle change. Always going to be a work in progress. Feels good to start fresh. Good luck all!
I’m definitely stepping WAY out of my comfort zone doing this, but I need some accountability in a bad way! I’ve always enjoyed living a healthy lifestyle, but the past three years have been a huge struggle, yoyoing from 130 to 150, gaining 4 pounds in the past couple of weeks alone! I turned 40 in December, so I’m not exactly sure what my new healthy weight is; I just know I have some major tummy flab working that I haven’t had before, and clothes that are too tight, to say the least. From the little research I did this morning about healthy weight, I think my I’m ok with a goal weight of 127 for my age and height. So here goes…

Though I’ve gotten down to 185 a couple of times and even 184 once recently, I just can’t seem to hold it and keep going up and down five pounds. I recently went back to work full-time so working out is even harder now with two young children. I would really like to “love” myself again.
