GIVEAWAY IS CLOSED
This past weekend I attended a soccer event, sponsored by Libby’s Fruits, featuring Brandi Chastain. It was the first time I ever attended such an event, wearing my blogger hat, and I have to say it was AWESOME! I got to meet a soccer legend and watch her firsthand inspire a group of young athletes from Buffalo.
Brandi started the day practicing with the kids. Let me just say that the day was cold, windy and the ground was muddy from rain the night before. However, that did not seem to bother her at all because she was right in the middle teaching the kids all that she could in the time allotted. The kids were soaking up all that she had to offer. It was great to see the smiles on their little faces.
Oh and on my face because I was having a great time too.
After practice, Brandi spoke with everyone talking about her 5 Tips for Healthy Living and also giving us wonderful words of encouragement and motivation.
My two favorite quotes she shared were “You are the only one who influences you” and “The most important thing parents can do is to be a good role model for their kids”.
I thought it was so important the way she spoke to parents and kids alike. Both of these quotes really stuck out with me because I believe it is the backbone to how I try to live my life and also to the information I share right here on Skinny Mom’s Kitchen.
Then she presented the Buffalo Soccer Club with a $5,000 donation. Everybody was happy and it was incredibly heartwarming to witness.
After that I got the privileged to meet Brandi. I will admit I was a little star struck. But she was super cool even when I went to give her a big old Buffalo hug
Sorry but we are very huggy in Buffalo – it is one of the ways we stay warm.
Did I mention that is was super windy?
Another super cool part of this event was getting to meet with other Buffalo mom bloggers. I typically do all my blogging alone so it was great to talk with other like minded moms. Check them out because they are a great bunch of mamas! Here they are starting from the left: Jennifer from Mother Thyme, Jennifer Ford Berry Professional Organizer from jenniferfordberry.com and Mothertime Marketplace, Jessi from Mothertime Marketplace, and Karen from Fun 4 Kids in Buffalo.
Last but not least Libby’s would like to give away to one SMK reader a Libby’s bag filled with a Libby’s water bottle, spoon holder, grocery notepad, coupon, and coupon holder. Here is a picture of everything you will be receiving:

apples time for apple crisp (saw one for a crock pot but now I cant find it )
My kids are addicted to trail mix of many different varieties. They make a game out of what they got, how many and who’s favorite it is. It encourages sharing of the things they don’t prefer in there too! All that and a bunch of protein in the nuts. Can’t beat it!
nothing beats a nice warm plate of chocolate chip cookies, fresh out of the oven & a big glass of cold, fresh from the farm milk!
my daughter loves grapes thanks
