A month or so ago my sister made this Bob’s Red Mill Gluten-Free Brownie Mix to bring to her church group. Some of the members are gluten-free so she searched for a tasty gluten-free baked good mix and found these brownies. Even though she is not really a “from scratch” baker she sure can whip up a mean brownie mix – they were a huge hit!
While she was in town, in the beginning of May, she made these brownies for me and the kids. Okay, she bought the mix and I made them – she was pregnant at the time so I really couldn’t let her do any work. Although, I did let her wash and cut up the strawberries.
Nowadays, I rarely use a prepackaged mix for baking – mostly because I just prefer to bake from scratch. Well, my sister reminded me that not everyone likes or has time to bake from scratch. She also informed me that there are many good and healthy baking mixes available and I should try them out. This way I can recommend them to others that may want other “not from scratch” options. So I did and was impressed – I think you will be too. You can thank my sister now when you see other mixes being used at Skinny Mom’s Kitchen.
The Bob’s Red Mill Gluten-Free Brownie Mix resulted in a rich chewy chocolaty brownie – they were delicious and, if I wasn’t told, I would never know they were gluten free. It was my sister’s idea to add the strawberries which, in my opinion, were the perfect match. What a great way to add fruit to your diet then on top of a gooey brownie.

Because I have never prepared foods gluten free I was wondering what the sugar content would be. I see you said approximately 32 carbs, would sugars be the same? Thanks for your help.
