**THIS GIVEAWAY IS CLOSED***
Less than a week ago, on the Skinny Mom’s Kitchen Facebook page, I said that I would give away a brand spankin new slow cooker when I get to 3000 fans. Well I went from 2500 fans to over 3000 in just 3 days!! Wow! My Facebook community is amazing! If you are not a part of it then you must join now because if you like the Skinny Mom’s Kitchen blog then you will LOVE the Facebook page.
With that said, this giveaway is in honor of the incredible Skinny Mom’s Kitchen Facebook community. xoxoxo
Let me talk a little bit about the slow cooker I chose for this giveaway, the Hamilton Beach Set n’ Forget Programmable 6-Quart Slow Cooker. This is the same brand and model that I own and have been using for over a month now.
Believe it or not up until a month ago I did not even own a slow cooker. Well that is not entirely true I did own a couple a few years ago but had such bad experiences preparing meals I gave them away.
What inspired me to get back into slow cookers again was some of the readers here. I had a few people email me asking about slow cooking recipes and if I ever use one to help with freezer cooking and make ahead meals. Then I started doing some research on slow cookers and found an enormous amount of information along with entire communities dedicated to slow cooking. I was intrigue so I asked for a slow cooker for my birthday and the rest is history.
Since then I have used my Hamilton Beach Set n’ Forget Programmable 6-Quart Slow Cooker 1-2 times a week. It has now become an essential tool in preparing healthy make ahead meals and freezer meals for my family. Some recipes I have prepared using this slow cooker are Simple Barbecue Pulled Pork Sandwiches, Steel Cut Oats, Applesauce, Italian Meatball Soup, Shredded Chicken, Black Bean Soup, and Tuscan White Bean Soup. All have been delicious. Check back because I will be posting about all my slow cooker recipes soon.
The Hamilton Beach Set n’ Forget Programmable 6-Quart Slow Cooker has 3 automatic cooking options (manual, program/probe, and warm). If you use the program setting (which I do all the time) it switches automatically to warm when complete so your meal does not over cook. This feature is important for busy moms (like myself) who may not be home when the meal is done cooking. Other slow cookers I have owned have not had this feature which explains the burnt overcooked food.
Another feature I like is that it comes with an internal thermometer to use during the probe mode when cooking large cuts of meat. This makes it so you don’t have to open the slow cooker and interrupt cooking to check if the meat is cooked properly.
The Hamilton Beach Set n’ Forget Programmable 6-Quart Slow Cooker is rich with modern features, simple to use, looks good with it’s sleek design, and is a busy mom’s best friend when trying to get a healthy meal on the table. Not to mention completely affordable. You can purchase one right now on Amazon
for only $44.70 with free shipping.
Of course, because I love giving away things that I know will make my readers lives easier, I am giving away a brand new Hamilton Beach Set n’ Forget Programmable 6-Quart Slow Cooker to one lucky Skinny Mom’s Kitchen reader. Woot! Woot!

I love crock pot cooking… tried to make scalloped potatoes and ham today, but it just didn’t turn out quite right. My daughter suggested that maybe I need a new crock pot since mine is a hand-me-down from my mother-in-law… so, maybe she is right! Love your site!
I would love to win that slowcooker because the one I have now is old and getting nasty from all the cooking I’ve done in it. Also, I have recently started changing my appliances over to stainless steel so it would be a nice match. If I were to win the crockpot the first thing I’d make in it would be one of my favorite crock pot recipes – Hawaiian Ham! Yum!!!
Im a mother of 8 and lead a very busy life so the crock pot would be an awesome help…I would make a roast first probably
i “like” you on FB
I would love to win this. It would make having a hot meal for my family of 8 so much easier. There are times when I have so much running to that I don’t always have a hot meal ready. I could set this in the morning get my running done and come home to feed everyone because it would already be done. I think the first thing I would cook in this would be a lovely roast with potatoes and carrots.
I would love to win this crockpot because I love to make crockpot recipes and really need to update my crockpot! The 1st thing I would make in it would be chilie!
signed up for your email =)
I have a 20 year old stock pot, and would love this one that is programmable. First thing would be a pot roast with vegetables. Would love dinner being ready when I get home from work. Love your Facebook page.
and so the first thing I would make is a re-do of this recipe!

I love crockpot meals so that dinner will be ready when I get home from work!! I can’t wait to try steel oats for breakfast. Thank you!!!
I need this because I work for an electrical contracting company from home with a 2 year old tugging at my heels all day. Did I mention my home is also a small farm, so I talk to builders and supply companies while I’m shoveling pig poop? Oh yeah, and I am working on my bachelor’s degree too. And when I cook dinner I have a vegetarian in the house, a picky 2 year old, and a meat hungry man to feed so I have to make 3 different dinners, every single night. It’s a miracle some nights that my family eats at all. But I don’t believe in processed foods, so if I ain’t cookin, they ain’t eatin.
The first thing I would make in it is slow cooked apples with apple cider, brown sugar, cinnamon, and crushed walnut filling. It’s a recipe I recommend trying immediately. Hollow out an apple by it’s core and stuff it with goodness, and cook it until it becomes soft and starts to collapse a little.
Also to anyone reading these comments… make this woman’s pizza crust. It will change your life.
I liked you on fb!
I signed up for your newsletter via email! Thanks
Winning this will be huge because I just went back to work full-time. As a busy mom to 4 little girls, I need to have dinner ready when I get home. I would love the programmatic feature so that my food isn’t overdone, especially for orange chicken.
Well, I need a bigger Crock pot. The one I have now won’t hold much. The first thing I will cook is pulled chicken.
I ike you on Facebook.
Signed up to follow you on twitter and tweeted about your site also! Thanks!
I would love a slow cooker. I just got engaged and we just bought a house. We don’t have much and are trying to save every little bit. A slow cooker would help me save time and money to get our live started off right
and Healthy!!!
just shared SMK on my FB wall. Didn’t take more than a minute or two for one of my friend to “like” you too!
Oh I would love to win this slow cooker as it is a more updated version than I am currently using. I am looking to find new recipes that my hubby and I can enjoy. Thanks!
Just gave you a shout out on my facebook/blog page! Thanks
I’m a facebook fan!
would love to win a programmable slowcooker to use it when i leave for long period of time and i would make a great soup for the old days coming our way. thanks for having this drawing!
I hope I win the slow cooker because it is so nice to come home to a finished meal on days I work. My slow cooker is getting old and warn out. This one sounds and looks extra special.
I am already a Facebook fan and get your newsletter, so I am guessing I can’t add those.
Forgot to say the first thing I would make.:) I would make your pulled pork recipe. I have been wanting to try that.
I NEED to win this slow cooker because the one I have has a lid that doesn’t fit just right – so a lot of the moisture evaporates!
My “backup” one isn’t big enough to feed DH, kids and me!
I “like” you on FaceBook!
Oops! First thing I’ll make – more Apple Butter!
Just “liked” ya on Facebook but am having trouble subscribing to the e-mail newsletter – will try again later… Just found your FB page and blog – looking forward to checking it out!!
This crock pot will help to make my life easier by allowing me to have dinner ready when I get home. I would make a roast with veggies first thing.
I linked your recipe for chicken nuggets on my website Facebook page.
I’m hoping to win the slow cooker
The one I have was handed down to me from my mother. It’s about 40 yrs old and harvest gold. All 5 of her kids chipped in money to get it for her for Christmas around 1974. After her kids grown and moved on she gave it to me to use. I have been using it for a long time. But would love a new one, with my 2 teenage boys I need 2 going at the same time.
I like you on FB!
Winning this crockpot would make my life easier because I’m a single mom with no help and have a daughter with a very active dance schedule. Being able to start dinner in the morning and have it ready by the time I get home from work would be wonderful since we don’t have a lot of time to eat before dance class. The first thing I would make is either Beef Stroganoff or Tortilla Soup.
I have a large family and could use another crock pot, we use our current crock 3-4 times a week during our busiest seasons! (soccer season!) The first things I would make is a fabulous tomato soup from crockpot365! Other crocks would contain chili and potato soup. That way we all have something we like and I’ll have lots of left overs!
I love to use my slow cooker, so much that it is falling apart. This new slow cooker will allow my love of slow cooking to continue. The first thing I will make is likely to be chili. Yum!
I used my glued together hand-me-down crock pot to have lunch ready after church for friends and family. All the wonderful recipes I have read made me excited to try new things in my crock pot….like desserts.
I want a slow cooker with a latchable lid b/c I use rubber bands to keep mine in place. I would also love to have a timer, so I can fix it and forget it while I go to work. I’m really curious how the internal thermometer works too. I will cook “cream cheese chicken” but will use Cream of Mushroom Soup instead of Cream of Chicken b/c my family thought it smelled like cat food when I made it the other day!
Winning this crock pot would make life a whole lot easier because I’m trying to get my time/money/food management all under control and this would be a fantastic tool in my quest to get more organized and training to plan ahead. We just moved to a new house this summer, and with a fresh start here in WI, I would love to do a fresh start with cook healthier meals. Plus, while I’ve wrestled with my old crock pots a couple times in the last couple weeks, they sure have their limitations (and I love the oval vs. the round shape of the old crock pots). The first thing I would cook would be anything with chicken!!! I saw a great chicken and dumplings recipe on Crock Pot Girls, and it sure sounds promising!! Totally random here – thanks for sharing your story!! I will begin reading your blog with interest as I also need to loose about 50 lb.!
This crockpot would make my life easier because I would be able to cook more in it than my current one. I think the first thing I would cook in it would be either PW’s Spicy Dr. Pepper Pulled Pork or my grandmother’s Pepsi roast.
I liked you on FB!
Being able to program one would be more time effecient than my timer I use now. First thing to make is crock pot fudge!!!!!!!!
Taking care of 2 little ones keeps me so busy during the day that having a new slow cooker to take care of dinner would make providing a good, healthy meal for my family a little easier!

I know I can’t compare to all the moms on here, but ill try anyways. I recently started cooking and I am trying to cook healthier. I am finding a lot of healthy recipes and now that you are sharing a lot of them I cannot try them because I do not have a cookpot
I look forward to finally trying all the healthy and delicious recipes once I get my very own crockpot.
The pulled pork is striking my fancey and would be delicious in this fall weather. Tammy, you can taste taste it for me
Would love to win a programmable slowcooker to use. I especially wanna try steel cut oats. thanks for having this drawing!

This would really help me stick to healthier meals in a busy time of year! I just subscribed to your newsletter!
Ooooh, I would love to start crockpot cooking several nights a week to allow for more play time with the kids!! I would start with pulled chicken.
I would LOVE to win this crock pot because I , like you previously, have only had one type of crock pot…the old fashioned kind with off, warm and high….not too ideal for fix it and forget it!
I am a BUSY mom of two, a 6 and a 4 year old. I teach preschool 5 days a week, lead my daughter’s Daisy troop, shuttle my kids to football and cheerleading practices and games and sell Scentsy. And oh yeah, I’m a wife too! All of this is fulfilling in my life, but doesn’t leave me much time to cook. Winning this crockpot would change that for my family. I could “cook” while I’m busy living life. I would LOVE it…and so would my husband and kids!
My first dish I’d make in the crockpot is a Chicken Marsala recipe I got from the Crock Pot Girls FB page. I have all the ingredients, just haven’t been brave enough to trust my CP to cook the chicken properly.
I wanted to let you know that I already “Like” you on your FB page.
Thanks for the opportunity to win! Have a good one!
Just gave you a shout out on my FB page! Hope you get even more followers!

I would love to win that slowcooker because the one I have now is old and just plain ugly. I am not a chef nor do I claim to be – but I would love to be able to cook up some grub for my family and I think I may be more motivated if I had such a fabulous crockpot! This would convert me from fast food lines to fast food fine at home!
Ahh… I finally bought a new crock pot a couple of weeks ago… I love love it !!! I would love to win the one here on your blog. Then, I could put my meat in one and the potatoes in the other one. My family is large so two crockpots would be great! Or, I could have the steel cut oats cooking in one and have my supper going in the other one !
I have a very old (20 year) crock pot I got when I moved out… I think I need a new one.
Pulled pork. yum
I like you on facebook and posted you on Funky Freezer Girls.
I am a busy mom, and it would be so nice to be able to leave the house with the crockpot programed and not have to be home at a set time to start or stop the crockpot. I would not be slave to the crockpot. The first thing I would cook would be a batch of pulled pork to freeze in individual meal size.
A programmable slow cooker would allow me to do all I need to do and not have to rush home to get dinner going, because it would be going
I think I’d make some soup first.
I already like you on FB.
I’m already a huge fan of yours on Facebook!! Thanks for all the great info!!
I would love to win a programmable crockpot!! I often let my crockpot go overnight (hoping and praying that I won’t wake up to burnt broth etc.) It would be a great option to be able to program it so I won’t have to worry!!
I would love to win this because my crockpot is breaking! First the lid handle and now both side handles:( I love slow cooked meals and would live to make some new recipes. I would love to make a stroganoff:)
Like on Facebook:)

This crock pot would make my life easier because I could cook my main dish AND dessert both at the same time while I’m at church with my family. The first thing I would make is Almost Swiss Steak: round or chuck steak, 1 can tomatoes, 1 can crm of mushroom soup, 1 lb baby carrots. served over rice. Then I’d make Chocolate Lava cake in my other crock!
With three kids and the school year already started, this slow cooker would make life much easier having meals easy on those crazy busy days
I need a new one because my poor overworked crockpot fell off the counter and busted.

I need this crock pot! Mine is from 10+ years ago and isn’t programmable! I think the first think I will make in it is some taco soup!
I would love this since I am a single momma and we are out of the home between 10-12 hours a day. I love my slow cooker but I am not able to leave it on during the day.
PS. I also signed up for your newsletter!
I would use it on the nights we are running around with different activities. Fewer last minute and bad for you dinner meals. The first thing I would make is stew.
I am following you on facebook!

I work full time and the program settings would allow me more flexibility on my recipes. I have several I will not try because I cannot get home before they are done!!!
As a mommy of 4 little ones crock pot cooking makes my life a whole lot easier. I also home school my two oldest and that takes a lot of my time.
The first thing I would cook is corn chowder now that we are having the perfect soup weather.

I would love to win a new Crock Pot. I love to cook in mine but it has gotten old and scared sometimes to leave the house when pluged in. Would love to use it more so when get home from work, your super is already for you. With working and then picking daughter up from babysitter, by time get home and get supper started and then eat, bedtime is close by. Love cooking in the Crock Pot cause everything in one pot, so easy clean up.
Like you I am trying to lose weight. It is very hard to do that with 3 very active kids including a toddler, owning your own company and working part-time. The crock pot I have now always overcooks meals. Dinner ends up ruined and we end up eating take out. Having a new crock pot that doesn’t ruin dinner would mean eating healthier and losing weight. I would love to have dinner waiting at home after the kids activities and not have to always come up with a “Plan B”.
I would love to win this crock pot because I would love to have a 2nd crock pot to be able to do two separate dishes sometimes! One of the first things I would probably cook in it is baked potatoes because I have heard how delicious they are cooked in a crock pot. This is where a 2nd one would come in handy! Potatoes in one, main dish in another and you’ve got dinner!
I tweeted the giveaway – http://twitter.com/#!/kjv1028/status/131053092698456064

I bought a fancy pressure cooker/crock pot combo and somehow it got mold inside from the moisture. We are still working on getting it clean! Would love to win this one to feel safe about what I am cooking in there and I would dearly love to make about 800 different variations of soup in it! Thanks for the opportunity!
I would love to win this crock pot. I have recently gotten custody of my nephew, so now I have two 4 year olds at the house. I also have a 1 and a half year old. We don’t get home until 6. Not much time for cooking….at crock pot would help, and programmable one would be better. Thanks!!!!!
Would love a new crock pot..and free is even better. Mine is a hand-me-down and I worry about leaving it unattended all day. Loving your blog!
I don’t own a slow cooker yet and have a family with 6 it would save me time since kids are in sports. to come home and have dinner ready
I am a nurse and work 12 hr shifts, this slow cooker would make life for me and loosing my 60 lbs so much easier. It’s so hard after 12 hrs to come home and cook. Also I work nightshift and that makes it that much harder. This slow cooker would be so helpful. The first recipe I would make would br the steel oats oatmeal. Yummy!! Slow cookers are great! I actually have a pressure cooker/slow cooker combo and it’s great. If I have a really tough piece of meat that just isn’t getting tender after all day in the slow cooker I switch it over to the pressure setting for 15-30 minutes and it’s tender as can be
I love too the convenience when needing something for potluck. I can have a soup started the night before on low and take it with me for the lunch party and it’s good to go.
I would love to win this slow cooker because the one I own is on it’s last legs and there are only 2 things that I can cook in it.
I liked you on FB.
I would love to win this because my old one is broken and the first thing I would fix in it is navy beans with ham.

I read your blog everyday, newsletter. My crock pot is old and it is time for a newer brand. Thanks
I like you on FB. My current crock pot has been loved and used frequently. It has a cracked lid, the dial is missing to switch it from off, high and low and it appears to be a removable crock but it is not. It’s time for a new one to make beef stroganoff… my daughter’s favorite
I would love to win a new crock pot! My current one is almost 20 years old. I am new to make ahead meals and freezer cooking and I love it! I can’t imagine how I ever had time to cook a meal after work before! The first thing I would cook would probably be the slow cooker oatmeal, I think my family would love that.
Thanks!
I am a full time working mom of two awesome little kiddos. Being able to put dinner in the crock pot in the morning and have dinner ready when we get home would give me so much more time with my sweeties! The first thing I will make is potato soup – my kids fave!
Oh – and I already “like” your FB page!
Slow cooking makes my life so much easier when I work during the week and am trying to spend as much time as possible renovating our new house. I have one slow cooker now, but sometimes I want to make a side dish in addition to an entree without them tasting all the same. This second slow cooker would increase my slow cooking capacity!!
I love the smell of crock pot stew, I love how easy to clean crock pots are. My first meal woyld be beef stew with barley.

My slow cooker is very outdated and the exterior gets so hot, it worries me so I never use it and “forget it.” I am always paranoid it would burn down my house. Therefore, I would love this new model. The first thing I would like to make (or at least try) is a version of my favorite Italian restaurants Minestrone soup. It’s about the only way my kids will eat 8 different vegetables at once.!
Hi there! I would love AND NEED to win the Hamilton Beach slow cooker because the handles are broke on mine and it’s looking pretty haggard these days! I need a new one! The first thing I’ll probably cook in it is my 1,2,3 roast and veggies with gravy! YUM!
I love using my crock pot, but now that our family numbers 5 instead of 2, it is often too small to make what I want to make in it. For example, I have a recipe for pot roast soup that we all loooooooove, but it’s too big to fit in mine. So of course, that would be the very first thing I would make in my new slow cooker!!
I also shared your giveaway on my FB page!
I posted about you on my facebook. I hope this offers more followers. I love your site!
I’d LOVE to win this! My husband owns his own business and works about 60 hours a week and I work part time and do freelance writing and our kids our in school. On sports practice nights (Mon/Wed) I could use this to make dinner a no brainer!
I just read an article about a lady who used her crock pot for 365 days. Would be fun to try for 7 days, but not 365
Perfect for the change of season! This would make my life easier by doing the cooking for me. Throw it in before work, come home to a yummy smelling house and dinner ready! First recipe- I’d look for a vegetarian chili.
We would love to keep our dinners easier and more simple. I would love to first make some crock-pot pot roast!!

I would love this crockpot because there are 10 people in my family. I need more crockpots than I already own. I use them a lot, but could really use a large one to help make stock. That would probably be the first thing I would make.
I talked about your website and FB page on my personal FB page.
I should win because I don’t own a crockpot and really need to get one so that I can cook and prep dinner ahead of time! Don’t know what I would make first! So many options…
Would love to win a new crockpot. Mine is older and needs to be updated. My kids love slow cook meat and I don’t always have to time to slow bake in the oven, so crockpotting is best. I would make Mexican Shredded Chicken first. Love a good chicken taco.
Signed up for your newsletter. Great idea. Thanks.
Diabetic, heart patient with newly diagnosed food allergies. I like the “normalcy” that a crockpot brings to meals/life and I’d probably start out with some sort of crock pot chili with the fall weather of late.
Getting dinner first thing in the morning or the evening before would be so wonderful
and I think some sort of chicken dish
As a mom of 3 little ones, I am constantly driving, running, cleaning, folding, mediating, washing and everything else under the sun. Would love to “set it and forget it
” to save myself some time.
I “like” you on fb.
Tammy,
I would love to win the crock pot cause I am a busy mom of 4 kids. Three which have disabilities. (Spent Halloween in the hospital with my 5 yr old.) I would love to be able to make something quick and simple so I could spend less time in the kitchen a more time focusing on my family.
Thanks so much,
Cami C.
P.S. I would make my family’s favorite, pulled pork.
I subscribe to your email.
I would love to win this crock pot because mine died over 2 months ago and I haven’t had the money to get another one.
The first thing I would make in it would be a big pot of chili.
Nothing better than coming home from a long day at work and smelling dinner in the pot, ready to eat!
Being able to program one would make preparing dinner so much easier. Would love to try some mexican chicken in it!!!!!!!!!
I would love to have this crockpot because of the probe feature! No more overdone, dry meat made in the crockpot…..especially since it’s impossible to check the temp when I’m at work. Knowing it’s switching to warm at the right time is pretty exciting! My two boys and husband will love it too! This first thing I would make would be a big bowl of vegetable beef stew! MMMMMMm!
I like you on facebook!
I am a mother of 3 and a business owner. Between work, church, hockey, skating lessons, Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts, dance, 4H, and PTO meetings, I find it nearly impossible to make a good home cooked meal. I NEED a slow cooker! The first thing I would make would be the Chicken Bacon Ranch recipe from the Crockin’ Girls website. Thanks for the opportunity!
I like you on FB!
This slow cooker would make my life so much easier! It would allow me time to finish working (I work from home and am a mom to 7 kids that are homeschooled as well.) while still cooking!! How novel is that??? The first thing I would make in it would be Creamy Italian Chicken!!! YUM!! I liked your page on FB, too!! Can’t wait to see who wins! Keep the awesome posts/recipes coming! They are a LIFE SAVER!!
Put it together and let it cook-a pot roast smells wonderful!!!
This would be amazing! I have been without a slow cooker for almost a year!
I “like” you on facebook!
I am a new follower on twitter and tweeted about the contest!
A programmable slow cooker would make life so much easier as I work long hours at a hospital with mentally ill adults. I have >100 lbs to lose, but by the time I get home from work, I am often exhausted and turn to restaurants or fast food. Having a healthy, home-cooked meal waiting at home would be a godsend! I do have a manual slow cooker that I have started using (and have lost 12 lbs so far!); however, I am often gone for 10-12 hrs and most recipes can’t cook that long. The programmable cooker can switch to “warm” and really increase my recipe selection (and my weight loss!)
I’ve “liked” your FB page!
I’d love to win the slow cooker, Having a new baby and a 7and 11 year old, slow cooking has become a daily thing in my home. Im a single mom so I don’t have a whole lot of extra time to be making healthy and some unhealthy lol meals. With a slow cooker I can add everything in the morning or the night before, set it and go. I currently have a small old slow cooker that is not programmable. So at times I have came home and our dinner has been burned! YUK! My kids arent picky eaters as long as its not burned lol..Im asking Santa to bring me one for Christmas LOL. not sure “she” will be able to though. BTW I love the recipes on your site as well as you losing weight it gives me inspiration to knock this extra baby weight off! Thanks Again…Also I have signed up for the newsletter, twitter, FB and whatever else I need to do to get extra entries. Do we have to enter somewhere again or do you automatically add them for us?
I was planning on making pulled pork sandwiches for my card game tomorrow night, however I accidently bought beef…Do you have a good recipe for that? Or could I just make it like I would pork?….extra entry lol
I new slow cooker would be wonderful because mine is 16 years old and it only has the off, low & high setting. I am a mother of four: 4, 7, 10 & 12 and I have two jobs that keep me out of the house a few days a week and a couple of nights (7p-7a shift). This new crock would allow me to fix dinner for the family while at work. Plus I know my kids & husband would have a good meal on the nights I work. The first thing I would cook would be shredded chicken taco meat – my family’s favorite. I also know that it wouldn’t be mushy because I couldn’t get home to turn the crock off. I liked your FB page also and look forward to exploring your healthy & revamped recipes. Thank you for the consideration.
I am a stay at home, homeschooling mother of 5. 3 have special needs and our newborn is on a heart and apnea monitor. Our 19 month old is unable to have any type of grain or product made from corn wheat or rice. That means that I have to prepare 2 different meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner. If I were to win this awesome crock pot it would make life easier – at least at meal time. I don’t know what I would make, I am scouring the internet for new and delicious recipes for the entire family. I would love to make one meal for everyone and just focus on the kids for an afternoon!
A new slow cooker would be awesome because I am like you a busy Mom on a mission; I want healthy meals for my kids, am on a budget and super busy. I would first try a potato soup in it. In my old crock pot it always burns or the potatoes are over cooked

Thank you for an awesome site
I need to win this as we travel 50 miles one way to work and we have 2 children at home that have after school activities so we don’t get home until 7 or 8 at night and then we are starving. We end up eating out quite a bit which is not good for the waist. Having a crock pot will help us immensely by having our meal done as soon as we get home and yes, you are right about the option of switching to warm cuz the other crockpots I used always either burned my dish or it turns off and was cold by the time we went to get our food.
Thank you for offering this!
I would love to win this crock pot because mine is 11 yrs old and kind of small. I’d love that it’s programmable!
I like you on fb!
I’d love to win a slow cooker because I work overnights and cooking is hard to do when all I want to do is get home and sleep. And it’s hard cooking for one. I eat a lot of frozen meals. Or fast food. Both are not good for someone that sleeps almost all day. Would love to experiment with new recipes that can cook while I sleep.
I am a mom of 3 active children under 12 years old. I also work full-time as a teacher of teh blind and visually impaired. Our days are so crazy hectic. Work, school, and after school activities and sports every day. It makes cooking a healthy and satisfying meal for my family difficult. I would love to have the new slow cooker to have great meals for my family waiting when we get home, and before running off to the evening’s activities. I stress the importance of sitting down at a table together every night, at family meal time, as an essential way of keeping our family together.
i liked you on facebook as well..and forgot to add the first thing I would cook in it…would be barbeque ribs! yum!
I follow you on fb
I am looking at this model for my birthday
it has the lid latches right? Looking forward to be able to take it with me on activity nIghts so we can have a warm meal after school and before activity. My kids love roast with mashed potatoes from the crock. Thanks!
forgot to list the first thing I would make would be…….drum roll please…..mexican shredded chicken
Subscribed to your e mail newsletter and when I finish here, going over to fb to like your page. Glad I stumbled upon you. A Slowcooker would be nice too.
I would like to win this Hamilton Beach Slowcooker because I hear they are the best. I work 8 to 5 and life would be so much easier if I could start a meal before I leave for work and be re
ady to eat when I get home. I commute every day and every any extra minutes are special
I would love to win this because I have two little boys who have a lot of therapy and I do not have a lot of time to cook. The first thing I would make is pulled pork for sammies.
I like you on FB.
I follow yyou on twitter and tweeted.
I would LOVE to win this new Crockpot!!! I have one that is approximately 28 years old & just doesn’t heat as it should. I am a later in life full time college student in the RN program. My brain doesn’t absorb as well as it should so I am always buried in the books studying- I feel so stressed because I never have time to cook anymore!!! Cooking had alway been a stress reliever in my life. My daughter is also full time in the LVN program and my husband has his hands full with the 4 year grandson (my inspiration for becoming an RN at the backside of 46!!!). Money is always tight when your paying for college and paying for books, so I just look at those newer fancy slow cookers and dream of all the delicious recipes everyone shares on here… Maybe I’ve been good enough Santa will bring me one!!! LOL!!! HAPPY COOKING TO ALL & MAY GOD BLESS EACH OF YOU!!!
I’ve never owned a crock pot and would love to win this one! I’d like to learn how to make pork chops in one.
Winning this crockpot woud make MY life easier because it would make my HUSBANDS life easier!! Haha! He has recently become the “stay-at-home dad/husband” and is trying so hard to become the meal preparer. He has been experimenting with many crockpot meals, and told me to “hang on tight” for a while until he gets the cooking thing down. LOL! However, the crockpot we have is sooo old, and not in great shape. So I would love to be able to give him this, and teach him how to make our family favorite : Crockpot Lasagna : )
Ok, I commented, liked on FB, gave a shout out on FB, and signed up for the email. : ) Sooo excited!!

2 kids, full time job, volunteering, sports, love my crock pot!!!!
I would love the win the slower cooker so I can come home after a long day at work and be able to sit down to a ‘skinny’ supper without all the fuss of rushing around making supper after being tired from my day.
How would it make my life easir? I am a homeschooling, SAH mom of 5… ages 11, 9, 4, 2, and 3.5 months… hubby works 2 jobs… enough said!
Like you on FB!!
I like cooking in a crock pot to save time, and have the good smells for hours. Not sure what I would cook. But something really good.
I have been researching this crock pot for days. I really, really want one
I teach and after being on my feet all day with wild little ones, it’d be so nice to have a crockpot ready with a meal. Plus I’m trying to eat healthy and am doing Weight Watchers, so making homemade meals is a plus!

My sweet mom gave me hers, and I use it several times a week, what mom doesn’t?! I know she misses it and I’d love to win this and give her a brand new one!!

I am following you on Facebook and gave you a shout out on my page. I also signed up for your newsletter. I would love this new crockpot. It would help me in my goal to lose weight. I am the mother of a 2 years old and just started working full-time gain and this would help me get dinner on the table each night so we are not tempted to eat out. I have found your blog very insightful, helpful, and motivational. Thank you for sharing your story.
Also, I think the first thing I would make in it is your pulled pork sandwiches.
Winning this slow cooker would make my life easier because instead of cooking dinner when I got home from work, dinner could cook itself while I was AT work! Kinda like having my own personal chef

I want a new crock pot because mine is VINTAGE. It is seriously from the 1970′s! Not only that, the button on the front (for off, high, low) is broke and I have to fiddle with the metal “stick” to change it. Totally hurts my fingers. I really don’t have extra money to spare right now to buy a new one, and I seriously make ta least four crock pot meals per week.

In the same boat as you – have had a crock pot for years and never had a good experience, so quit using it. My husband works a split of 10p-6a and 2p-10p shifts so we are always eating at different times – this would make my life a lot easier….and give him something healthier to eat when our paths don’t cross. He tends to go for eating a whole frozen pizza (!!!) in a pinch

I would so love a new crock pot because I recieved mine as a gift over 15 years, and 4 kids ago! It’s so ugly I store it away when not in use, and when I do use it I turn it around so you can’t see the front.
I would like to win this cause it would make dinner time so much easier…I am a single mom raising three kids and working 45 to 50 hours a week and would love to be able for my kids to have a good home cooked meal through the week.

I need a new crock pot because I recently broke the crock in mine and can no longer use it.
The first thing I will make with it if I win it is slow cooker beef stew.
I like Skinny Mom’s Kitchen on FB.
Winning this crock pot would make my life simpler because my husband, 6 year-old son & I will be participating in a Turkey Trot (benefiting our small town’s Library) on Thanksgiving morning and it would allow me to have Skinny Cornbread Dressing ready for our Thanksgiving meal. Thank you!
winning this slow cooker would make my life easier big time as I have 5 small children, the oldest is just 6
The first thing I would cook would be lasagna or pulled pork.

I am so ready to start regular meal planning for the health if my family and myself. I know that a programmable slow cooker is essential for me, I’m a teacher so I’m at work from 7-4:30 every day (often later) then I am hauling children around which leaves very little time for cooking. A wonderful programmable slow cooker would really help !

I recently returned to work after my maternity leave with my daughter. I’m trying to find a balance between work and home and still have time to make healthy meals at home. This slow cooker would be a big help!

I have a 3 yr old & we “unschool” so I love cooking in slow cookers since it gives us more time to play! plus my 4 slow cookers/crock pots are the ones my mom gave me from the 1970s, still going strong but it sure would be nice to have a new fangled gadget
I would either make chicken corn chowder or vegatable soup since we put up plenty of veggies out of the garden this year
Thank you for the opportunity to win!

Having this slow cooker would make my life easier bc having family of 5 I am always cooking large quantities of food and it would give me more time to spend quality time with the family.
I have an 8 month old, having a crockpot would make my day go easier.
I want to make tortilla soup, help up stay warm in the cold days.

I work ALL day and am trying to lose weight, and a crockpot would make it soooo easy to plan healthy meals and not just pick the fastest thing available, which is usually not healthy and loaded with sodium. Would also love to share these healthy recipes with others, especially those who are older and don’t cook anymore and are on a fixed budget, and some other hard working friends!
The first thing I would make I think would be some chili or beef stew or baked potato soup, so perfect for the cooler weather!
I would love to cook while I am at work. There is too much to do in a day and not enough time. I want to try your applesauce recipe.
I would love a new slow cooker–with 4 kids mine is often to small and I love to set it and forget it!!
