Weekly Family Friendly Kid Approved Healthy Menu Plan

Below you will find my family’s menu plan for the week. This weekend again was extremely busy for us with spring clothes shopping and another birthday party so I was not able to cook ahead and freeze any dinners. Instead I put together a menu of recipes that can easily be prepared after work. You will notice that the breakfast and lunch menus stay close to the same every week. This is because right now I am focusing my efforts on creating variety in the foods my family eats at dinner time. I promise I will branch out with more options for breakfast and lunch in the future. Enjoy!

  1. Hi I’m visiting from MPM. Your menu layout is impressive :) Do you print it and hang it on the wall to keep you on track? Your menu sounds like things my family would love too! Have a great week!

Hi there! Thanks for stopping by. Yes I print it out every week and hang it right on the fridge. It keeps all of us on track. You have a great week as well. :)

Thanks! I still am trying to find the time to include all the nutritional information because I know how important that is for everyone. I am looking at a couple menu planning programs to make it easier so hopefully soon.

      Your looks great too!

      • Awesome! I was just browsing around your site and read your wight loss story. I felt like I was ready my own story. I started gaining weight in college, minus kids, plus 2 dogs, and a crazy job…other than that it’s the same. My husband and I are working to better our eating habits, activity/exercise habits, and just generally live a better, greener, healthier life. I don’t believe in diets, never have. So we are just taking it one day at a time, making better choices, and learning from our mistakes, and it’s working. The progress is slow, but the changes are permanent, and we are okay with that. I was just wondering if you are sticking to a certain calorie range for your meals and daily total. Congrats!!! What you have accomplished and continue to accomplish is monumental. I wish you all the best in reaching your weight loss goals and maintaining them!

Thanks so much! My husband says slow and steady wins the race with losing weight. I agree! When I first started my lifestyle change my calorie range was 1300 – 1400 calories a day. I had a nice steady weight loss with that. Now I am about 1500 – 1600 calories a day. I still have about 15 – 20 pounds to lose and I am still losing but at a much slower pace which I am fine with. I do not like to feel deprived at all because when I do I almost always head for the refridgerator. Thanks for all of your encouragement. Keep me updated on your progress.

  3. I love your menu planning. I haven’t made it past dinner! Do you exercise as well?

    • Thanks so much. Working out and I are still getting to know one another. Not quite as good as friends as I would like :)

In all seriousness though I try to work out when I can but I can do MUCH better. That is one of my goals is to get more disciplined with working out.

I am so glad you decided to stop by my blog. Hope you enjoyed what I have up so far. Stay in touch!
