Turkey and black bean tacos are easy to make, freezes perfectly, and more importantly kid friendly. No matter how picky my kids are being that day I know they will happily chow these down.
1 lb ground turkey
1 15.5 oz can of black beans
1 packet taco seasoning
whole grain taco shells
Spray pan and cook up the ground turkey until pink is gone.
Drain and rinse beans then add to turkey.
Add taco seasoning following the directions on the packet. You may need to add a little bit more water because of the beans. Add extra water in little at a time so it does not get to soupy. Cook for about 10 minutes.
Cook the taco shells according to their directions. The put your tacos together and enjoy. Keep in mind that whatever you add to your tacos (cheese, sour cream, guacamole, etc.) will add calories. Salsa is a great condiment that adds delicious flavor without a lot of calories.
Serving size is about 1 cup taco mixture and 3 taco shells.
